Makay Trekking Expedition

13 NIGHTS / 10 DAYS

For lovers of nature in its pure, we offer this trek of exploration in a country of more remote and hardly accessible: the Makay. Result of pharaonic erosion of several million years, Makay is a sanctuary of nature where life has developed self-reliance. We’re going to meet the Bara tribe, zebu breeders who is still very committed to the belief of Talismans. We explore the most spectacular part of the Makay along small rivers that are the only pathways to penetrate the massif. We are progressing in the heart of this no man’s land to reach an oasis of greenery, lakes inhabited by sacred crocodiles. We leave the mountains to reach the river Mangoky for a day cruise in a traditional pirogue.
